hello

I am a glass artist working from my studio in the deepest depths of rural Shropshire. I divide my time between melting glass into a beautiful hot "blob" (technical term) and then cajole, coaxing and occasionally bullying it into doing what I want in a technique called Flameworking, and working with kiln formed glass, which I use in combination with copper, working from my own drawings to produce evocative scenes showcasing little pieces of my countryside world.

about me

Glass Artist Becky Haywood

Ok so... coffee drinking, glass crazy, mad cat lady with slight OCD tendencies about sums it up but I suspect you might want a more official version… hmmm let me see…

My name is Becky Haywood, I love the wild places and our wonderful native flora and fauna and Im very lucky to live with my lovely husband and our 3 cats in the delightful English countryside in rural Shropshire.

I am very passionate about what I do and what I do is glass, I melt it, etch it, carve it and generally play with it and cajole it into doing what I would like it to. I completed a glass degree back in 2009 and have been experimenting and working with glass ever since. I like to try out new ideas and techniques so amongst the pieces I have available you may notice the odd "where did that come from" piece slip in.
